Phantom Blade Zero System Requirements (Official PC Specs)
Last verified · PBZ Wiki
Phantom Blade Zero requires at minimum an Intel Core i5-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600, 16 GB of RAM, and a GeForce GTX 1660 or Radeon RX 5500 XT — with an SSD. That tier targets 1080p at 30 FPS with upscaling already enabled. The recommended tier targets 1440p at 60 FPS, also with upscaling, and also requires an SSD.

Can I Run Phantom Blade Zero?
The entry bar is lower than the game's visuals suggest. A GTX 1660 launched in 2019 and an i5-8700K in 2017, so a mid-range PC built in the last six or seven years is likely to clear the minimum specification for Phantom Blade Zero.
There are two catches, and both are easy to miss on other spec pages. The first is the SSD requirement. It is listed as a requirement at both tiers, not a recommendation — Unreal Engine 5's streaming systems assume it, and a mechanical hard drive can produce asset pop-in and stutter even when the CPU and GPU are comfortable.
The Upscaling Caveat Matters
The second catch is subtler. Both published tiers state their targets with upscaling enabled. That means the minimum specification does not describe a machine rendering natively at 1080p and 30 FPS — it describes one rendering below 1080p and reconstructing up to it via DLSS, FSR or XeSS.
Read the tiers accordingly. If you are on exactly the minimum hardware, expect to leave upscaling on permanently and to sit near 30 FPS rather than above it. If you want native 1440p at 60 without reconstruction, you want hardware above the recommended tier, not at it.
Official Requirements Table
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| CPU | Intel Core i5-8700K / AMD Ryzen 5 3600 | Published by S-GAME alongside the minimum tier |
| GPU | NVIDIA GTX 1660 / AMD RX 5500 XT | Published by S-GAME alongside the minimum tier |
| RAM | 16 GB | 16 GB or higher |
| Storage | SSD required | SSD required |
| Target | 1080p / 30 FPS, upscaling on | 1440p / 60 FPS, upscaling on |
| Install size | Not published | |
Where a cell says the figure was published alongside the minimum tier, S-GAME issued the recommended specification in the same announcement as the minimum; this wiki lists only the component values it can attribute directly rather than filling gaps with guesses.
Install Size, Pre-Load and Steam Deck
Not announced yet. The Phantom Blade Zero file size, preload timing and Steam Deck verification status are all unpublished. S-GAME has published nothing on this as of August 21, 2026, and this wiki does not publish estimates as facts. This page is updated the day that changes.
You will find pages quoting 50 GB, 80 GB or 100 GB for Phantom Blade Zero. None of those trace back to S-GAME or to a store listing. SteamDB reveals real depot sizes once builds go public, usually in the final weeks before release, and this page updates when that happens.
On Steam Deck: no verification rating has been issued. Given the minimum tier already assumes upscaling to reach 1080p/30, expect a demanding experience rather than a comfortable one until Valve rates it.
If You Fall Below the Minimum Spec
Three levers exist, in descending order of impact. Add an SSD. It is the one listed requirement with no workaround, and moving the install off a mechanical drive fixes streaming stutter that no settings change will.
Upgrade the GPU before the CPU. The minimum tier already assumes upscaling is on, so a card that reconstructs well — anything with DLSS or a current FSR implementation — buys more headroom than a CPU step.
Reach 16 GB of RAM. It is a stated minimum rather than a recommendation, and Unreal Engine 5 titles degrade sharply below their RAM floor. If none of that is realistic, the PS5 version at the same $59.99 is the more reliable path.
Phantom Blade Zero FAQ
